Overview
Appointment Notes are visible to both business staff and pet owners. They are a great way for businesses to keep track of customer-friendly information about a pet's stay. You can also pin a note if you want to ensure key information stays easy to find. There can only be one public Appointment Note per appointment, and this note can be created by both the pet owner and staff.

How To Add an Appointment Note When Creating a New Appointment
1. From anywhere in the app, click Add Appointment > Single Appointment in the top right-hand corner.

2. Select the pet, service category, and service type. Above the date selector, enter any notes regarding this appointment in the Notes textbox.
⚠️ Important: Anything entered in the Appointment Notes field is visible to both staff and the pet owner.

3. Once you have finished adding details about the appointment such as date, time, run (if applicable), and service add-ons, click Add Appointment to create a new appointment with the associated Appointment Note.

How To Add/Edit an Appointment Note for an Existing Appointment
Appointments can be edited in various places throughout RunLoyal, such as the Daily Snapshot tab, Appointments tab, Calendar, Pet Profile, or Pet Owner Profile. Any place you can edit an appointment you can add a new Appointment Note or update the existing Appointment Note. The edit icon is a dark blue View/Edit Appointment, and it will be present anywhere the appointment can be edited.
1. Navigate to the left-hand navigation > Appointments tab, or any other page from which you wish to edit the appointment in question.

2. On the Appointments tab, click the dark blue View/Edit Appointment icon next to the appointment in question.

3. In the Notes textbox, enter any appointment-specific notes and click Update Appointment to save.

How To Add/Edit an Appointment Note On Advanced Staff Calendar
1. Navigate to the left-hand navigation Adv. Staff Calendar tab and go to the date and staff member who is handling the appointment in question.

2. Click the pet's name for the appointment in question.

3. In the Appointment Notes textbox, enter any appointment-specific notes.
⚠️ Important: Anything entered in the Appointment Notes field is visible to both staff and the pet owner.

4. Once you have finished entering the note, click the black Save icon to save the note to the appointment.

How To Edit/Delete an Appointment Note from a Pet or Pet Owner Profile
1. Navigate to any pet or pet owner profile and click the Notes icon in the top left of the page, just under the name.

2. From the Notes popup, to edit an existing note, click the green pencil icon next to the note in question.
3. Update your text as needed, then click Update. This will edit the note on the appointment and the update will be visible in the Notes field when editing/viewing that appointment.
4. To delete a note, click the red Trash icon next to the note in question. Then type the word 'delete' and click Delete. This will delete the note from the appointment and it will no longer be visible in the Notes field when editing/viewing that appointment.

How To Pin/Unpin an Appointment Note
1. Navigate to any pet or pet owner profile and click the Notes icon in the top left of the page, just under the name.

2. From the Notes popup, click the blue pin icon next to the note you wish to pin.
⚠️ Important: This is considered an update and will move the note to the top of the list.
3. To unpin a note, click the red pin icon next to the pinned note.

4. To limit the notes to only pinned notes, check the Pinned checkbox at the top of the Notes Popup, then click the blue search button. 
How To Limit Results To Appointment Notes Only
1. Navigate to any pet or pet owner profile and click the Notes icon in the top left of the page, just under the name.

2. From the Notes popup, click the box titled Note Type.

3. Uncheck Pet and make sure Appointment is checked. Then click the Search button.

4. The results will then only display Appointment notes (both staff-only and public appointment notes) and exclude Pet notes.
