Adding a Pet Owner Staff Note

Overview

Pet Owner Staff Notes are a great way for businesses to keep track of important information about a pet owner who brings their animal to your business. Notes are organized by updated date so you can easily see the most recent information. You can also pin a note if you want to ensure key information stays easy to find. 


Pet Owner Staff Notes are for internal use only and are not visible to the pet owner.


Staff Notes can be viewed in the following areas:

  • Pet Owner Profile
  • Paw Metrics > Operational > Notes Report

How To Add a Pet Owner Staff Note on an Owner Profile

1. Navigate to any pet owner's profile by searching the pet or owner name in the search bar, or using the navigation bar to open the Pet Owners page.


2. On the pet owner profile, click the Notes icon in the top left of the page, just under the client's name.


3. From the Notes popup, click Add in the top right corner to create a new note.


4. Type the note detail directly into the Notes textbox. If you are just adding a text note without media, click Add to save the note.


5. Verify your note displays at the top of the Notes popup.



How To Upload Media to Staff Notes

1. If you would also like to add a photo while creating or editing a note, click Add & Upload Media.


2. Drag and drop any file into the box, click "Browse Files" or "My Device" to choose a file from your computer, or click "Photo" to take a photo from your device's camera.


3. If you would like to upload additional media, select + Add More.


4. Once all media has been uploaded, select Upload file and then Done.



How To Edit/Delete Staff Notes

1. Navigate to any pet owner profile and click the Notes icon in the top left of the page, just under the client's name.


2. From the Notes popup, to edit any note click the green pencil icon next to the note in question.


3. Update your text as needed, then click Update.

⚠️ Important: Any update will move the note to the top of the list.


4. To delete a note, click the red Trash icon next to the note in question. Then type the word 'delete' and click Delete.



How To Pin/Unpin a Pet Owner Staff Note

1. Navigate to any pet owner profile and click the Notes icon in the top left of the page, just under the client's name.


2. From the Notes popup, click the blue pin icon next to the note you wish to pin. 

⚠️ Important: This is considered an update and will move the note to the top of the list.


3. To unpin a note, click the red pin icon next to the pinned note.

4. To limit the notes to only pinned notes, check the Pinned checkbox at the top of the Notes Popup, then click the blue search button



How To Limit Results To Pet Owner Staff Notes Only

1. Navigate to any pet owner profile and click the Notes icon in the top left of the page, just under the name.


2. From the Notes popup, click the box titled Note Type.


3. Uncheck Appointment and make sure Pet Owner is checked. Then click the Search button.


4. The results will then only display Pet Owner notes and exclude Appointment notes.
