You can purchase an auto renew membership with the first month free by following these steps:
1. Under settings>pricing>coupon you will want to setup a 100% coupon that only applies once. The setup should look something like the below. When purchasing the membership you would use this coupon. 
2. Since on the first purchase they are not taking any payment the pet owner will have to have a card on file in order for the next month payment to auto renew.
If you follow these steps the first month will be free and the next month will be at the full membership setup price.
