Membership Renewal Payment Reattempts

Modified on Thu, 4 Sep at 5:01 AM

When a membership renewal payment fails due to a card issue, our system automatically initiates reattempts. This ensures that temporary issues such as insufficient funds or card network delays do not immediately disrupt the pet owner's membership.

How the Reattempt Process Works:

  1. Initial Attempt:
    • The system first attempts to charge the card.
    • If successful → Membership is renewed.
    • If failed → The system moves into the reattempt cycle.
  2. Reattempt Schedule:
    • 1st Reattempt: 8 hours after the initial failure
    • 2nd Reattempt: 24 hours after the previous attempt
    • 3rd Reattempt: 48 hours after the previous attempt

If all reattempts fail, the membership remains unrenewed until action is taken.

Tracking the Reattempt Status

You can monitor the progress of reattempts from within the portal:

  1. Go to Menu → Memberships Status → Auto-Renewal in Progress

  2. This page will list Pet Owners whose renewal payments are currently in reattempt.

  3. Click on a Pet Owner’s profile, It opens a popup with the option:

    • Renew Now → Manually trigger for the renewal payment.

Notifications

  • Kennel Owners will receive email notifications about failed membership billing.

  • Pet Owners will receive email notifications about failed renewal attempts, with instructions to update their payment details if needed.
